Blair McElroy, MSW, LCSW License # LCSW 64863

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience, specializing in individual therapy for adults in my private practice in Marin County, California. I am licensed in the state of California through the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

I graduated with honors from Mount Holyoke College and earned my MSW from the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, where I received the Helen J. Crowley Memorial Award in recognition of outstanding contribution to the field of social work.

My clinical training and professional experiences are diverse and grounded in a range of respected institutions and approaches. I trained in relational theory at the Stone Center Counseling Service at Wellesley College and completed a post-MSW fellowship with a focus on cognitive-behavioral therapy in the Outpatient Psychiatry Department at Boston Children’s Hospital. I later spent six years as a Staff Clinician at Bowdoin College’s Counseling Service before transitioning to private practice. My work has also included teaching and implementing the Mindful Schools curriculum at Bacich Elementary School in Kentfield, California, as well as completing the two-year Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis.

Due to my strong interest in mindfulness and self-compassion, I have pursued additional training in these areas, including the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at UCSF, the 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) course at Spirit Rock, and coursework in Mindfulness Fundamentals and Mindfulness Educator Essentials through Mindful Schools.
